by Holly ChristodoulouA MURDER probe has been launched after a man was stabbed to death following a brawl in Leamington Spa.
The 35-year-old was knifed in the heart after the row erupted on the street at around 10.30pm yesterday.
He was rushed to hospital but sadly couldn't be saved and died shortly after.
A 34-year-old woman and 27-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in custody.
One horrified neighbour said: "The police arrived and started performing CPR on him. The paramedics managed to get his heart restarted when he went in the ambulance.
“The road was closed off all night and even this morning there were 12 police cars.
“It’s not the area where you’d expect something like this to happen.”
The fight - involving a large group of people - broke out last night in the centre of the leafy Warwickshire town, where houses sell for up to £1million.
Police are now appealing for anyone with information to get in touch.
Chief Superintendent Ben Smith, of Warwickshire Police, said: “This investigation is in its very early stages and our thoughts are with the family of the deceased.
“There will be a large police presence in the area throughout the day as we work to establish the circumstances around the male’s death and I would ask anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident to make contact as they may have information that can help with our enquiries.
“We’d also like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dash footage of the incident or from the surrounding area.”
Anyone with information can ring Warwickshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 557 of 28 May 2020 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
