Minister to join in chamber event
Minister for International Trade Greg Hands will be taking part in a Black Country Chamber of Commerce online Zoom event on Friday, June 5.
by John CorserDudley North MP Marco Longhi and chamber chief executive Corin Crane will be joined in conversation with Mr Hands between 2.30pm and 3.30pm.
They will be discussing US and UK trading relationships whilst the region looks to reboot and restart its powerful exporting base.
Mr Longhi said “The reason I have put this event together with the Black Country Chamber of Commerce is to help businesses in Dudley and the Black Country maximise the benefits of a new trade deal with the US.
“It is important for Greg Hands, who is overseeing this through Parliament, to have first-hand accounts from local businesses, including those who do not already export. This deal needs to work for small and medium-sized businesses to ensure our area benefits from the new jobs and growth that will be generated.
“If we are to level the playing field, as the Prime Minister has said, growing our trade routes is central to this. We must give local firms the best chance to succeed. It is an honour to help facilitate this.”
The event is open to members and non-members and booking is essential at https://www.blackcountrychamber.co.uk/events/
