Expectation vs reality: AAP takes subtle dig at Centre over hospital food

Taking a dig at the central government, the Twitter account of Kejriwal’s AAP shared photos of food served at hospitals run by the Centre and Delhi government.

A member of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Wednesday tweeted a video of food served to a coronavirus patient in a Delhi hospital.

As he tagged Arvind Kejriwal, the SAD spokesperson Manjinder Singh Sirsa expressed his concern that the food at the government facility was so bad that it could further worsen the condition of a person consuming it.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) took note of the appeal made by Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

The next day, in a subtle dig at the Centre, the AAP posted a meme in the ‘expectation vs reality’ format on Twitter. Using minimum words, it posted photos of food being provided at hospitals under Delhi government and that at Centre-run hospitals.

Here’s the tweet:

A few users on Twitter, however, seemed confused by the tweet as they were unable to understand that hospitals run by Delhi are different to those under the Centre.

And so, the AAP in another tweet thanked Sirsa for the footage, which it said was from central government’s RML Hospital in Delhi.

Delhi has so far reported over 17,000 cases of novel coronavirus with as many as 1,106 coronavirus cases on Friday.

Delhi's Covid-19 death tally also jumped by 82 on Friday morning after 69 fatalities were reported.
