Football behind closed doors does not automatically mean there can be no fans in the stadium, as a South African starlet's club has shown after thousands of the team's supporters watched their latest game live on giant screens next to the pitch.

Professional football returned in Denmark on Thursday evening, with AGF Aarhus – the team South African winger Gift Links plays for – hosting Randers, Mandla Masango's former club.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, games in Denmark are taking place behind closed doors, but Aarhus made sure that thousands of fans could follow the game live inside the stadium by installing several giant screens alongside the pitch.

The stadium itself was without fans, although cardboard cut-outs filled some part of the stands, but thousands of supporters watched the game from the sidelines via giant screens after logging into a Zoom call.
Fans were thus seen celebrating in front of their screens as Patrick Mortensen saved a point for the home side with a 92nd minute equaliser to make it 1-1.
SA starlet Links came off the bench in the 82nd minute, with his side still trailing 1-0.
Crowd noise was also played throughout the match, while other sets of fans could watch the game from the seats of their cars in drive-in cinemas.
