Nissan has teased its upcoming 400Z sportscar in a video showcasing its future lineup of models. The 400Z looks as if it draws inspiration from the 1970sā€™ Nissan Fairlady 240Z, as it sports a sloping roofline, a long bonnet, and plenty more retro design cues.

For example, the front LED headlights are circular much like the original 240Zs, while the rear haunches are wide and softly curved, making for a squat and retro look. Elsewhere, the is a classic ā€œZā€ emblem on the C-pillar, subtle bonnet bulges, and a chrome strip that runs along the top of the side windows.

What seems new is its front grille that looks as if it does not follow any previous design conventions under the Z lineage. As Carscoops reports, power is expected to be supplied via a twin-turbo three-liter V6 engine with an output of around 400 HP, and the new model is potentially going to be built upon a revised version of the current Nissan 370Z.

Take a look at the well-hidden Nissan 400Z in the teaser video above. You can expect more news in the coming months as rumors suggest the car will release in 2021.
