Adi who currently plays for Major League Soccer (MLS) side, Columbus Crew SC, said it was his widow’s might to help ease the hardship which the Coronovirus Pandemic has brought on the citizens.

“It’s indeed my humble pleasure to help these masses of Benue State in this very challenging period,” said 29-year-old forward.

“We all know that what’s happening now is due to no fault of the people, and to be in a position to help is very fulfilling.

“I thank God for His blessing for me to be able to help and I know this food item will surely get to the targeted vulnerable in the state," Adi said, as quoted by Complete Sports.

The Columbus Crew forward also tweeted on his Twitter handle: “I and my family are honored and privileged to donate 2000 10kg bags of rice to @benuestategovt , during this difficult times for the vulnerable, Thanks.”

While he played for Portland Timpers, Adi’s 46 goals in the MLS in 2017 make him the league’s all-time top-scorer in a season.

He was called up to the Super Eagles in March 2016 preparatory to the 2017 AFCON qualifier against Egypt, but he wasn’t selected for the game.

He believes that his current form for his club is good enough to earn him a recall to the Nigerian national team.

In 2011, Adi was twice called up to Nigeria’s U23 Olympic Eagles squad.

Recall that Legit.ng also reported that Super Eagles star Ahmed Musa has once again rendered his helping hand to residents of Jos as he sent a truck load of food items to the northern part of the Plateau state capital.

This was disclosed by Bello Mohammed Bello who uses the Twitter handle @GeneralBMB on Monday, May 25 and claiming the Al-Nassr of Saudi Arabia star sent the items through him.
