NCDC announces 182 new cases, total now 8915

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Thursday, May 28 reported that there are 182 new cases of coronavirus in Nigeria.
The NCDC via its official Twitter account revealed that the new cases are as follows:

Akwa Ibom-10
Oyo-8
Kaduna-6
Delta-6
Rivers-5
Ogun-4
Ebonyi-4
Kano-3
Plateau-2
Gombe-2
Kebbi-1
Kwara-2
Bauchi-1
Borno-1
This means there are now 8915 confirmed cases of COVID-19 reported in Nigeria. While 2592 have been discharged, 259 people have died due to the viral disease.

With the new figures, Nigeria is gradually inching closer to the 9000 mark.

Recall that the federal government recently updated its guidelines for the eased lockdown in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Lagos and Ogun states.
The federal ministry of information and culture informed the public of the newly updated guidelines through its Twitter page on Monday, 25.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has unveiled 2 emergency ventilators produced by a team of researchers from the Air Force Research and Development Centre and Air Force Institute of Technology, Kaduna.
The ventilators were produced in partnership with the faculty of veterinary medicine, Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
The emergency ventilators, tagged ‘NAF E-Vents’, were unveiled on Wednesday, May 27 by the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, in Kaduna state.
In a related development, the federal government has imposed a fine of N1million on a United Kingdom aircraft impounded last week for undertaking illegal commercial operations in Nigeria during the COVID-19 lockdown.
This was disclosed by the minister of aviation, Senator Hadi Sirika, via micro-blogging site, Twitter.
“We caused them to pay and reported their callous misdemeanour to United Kingdom Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA), MFA and the UK High Commission,” the minister tweeted on Sunday, May 24.
