Just Cause Developer Opens Liverpool Studio

Avalanche Studios, the team behind the Just Cause series, as well as games like Mad Max and Generation Zero, is opening a new development studio in Liverpool. The company revealed its new location in an announcement yesterday.

Avalanche says that five developers will start out in the Liverpool studio next month, with another 20 positions being hired for immediately. The new location is expected to expand to over 50 staff in the next two years, but in the short term, new employees will be working remotely until UK government guidance around coronavirus changes.

The Liverpool studio will be Avalanche's fourth location - its other offices are found in Malmo and Stockholm, in Sweden, as well as New York. It will initially work alongside those other studios on the development of IPs from Avalanche's creative division, suggesting Just Cause isn't headed to the UK any time soon.
