Malabon, Valenzuela drug busts net P680K shabu, 6 suspects

AROUND P680,000 worth of shabu was seized by authorities from six drug personalities, including a couple, in separate buy-bust operations Thursday evening in Malabon and Valenzuela cities.

Malabon police chief P/Col. Jessie Tamayao said operatives of Station Drug Enforcement Unit (SDEU) arrested Marlon Echapare, 32, Virgilio Buenaventura, 39, both of Bgy. Longos and Reggie Manlugon, 36 of Bgy. Tanza, Navotas city at around 9 p.m. at the corner of C-4 Road and Pampano St. Bgy. Longos after they sold P500 worth of shabu to a police poseur-buyer.

Policemen led by P/Capt. Johnny Baltan recovered from the suspects the P500 marked money, 13 pieces of plastic sachets containing 20 grams of shabu with standard drug price amounting to P136,000, one cellular phone and the motorcycle they allegedly used to deliver illegal drugs.

Earlier at around 6:30 p.m., Valenzuela police SDEU led by P/Capt. Segundino Bulan, Jr. arrested Richard Alejandrino, 47, his wife Janette Alejandrino, 45, and Reynaldo Dela Cruz, 41, after conspiring to sell P2,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop inside the couple’s house at 168 Maysan Road, Bgy. Maysan.

Policemen recovered from the arrested suspects a total of 80 grams of shabu worth P544,000, the marked money used in buy-bust, two mobile phones and one motorcycle.

Valenzuela police chief P/Col. Ferdinand Ortega said the confiscated drugs was turned over to Northern Police District (NPD) Crime Laboratory for chemical analysis while charges for selling, possession and conspiracy under Article II of R.A. 9165 will be filed against the suspects.`
