Reports: Tottenham agree Kyle Walker-Peters loan extension, open to similar Danny Rose accord

Tottenham Hotspur will allow the two full-backs to stay out on loan until the season ends.

Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement to let one of their loan players extend a current deal at a Premier League rival, and are open for another to do the same. 

With the Premier League season now set to overrun the current expiration date for the loan spells of Kyle Walker-Peters and Danny Rose at Southampton and Newcastle United respectively, both clubs are hoping to keep the full-backs. 

According to the Daily Echo, a deal for Walker-Peters to remain at St Mary’s has already been agreed between the two clubs. 

Walker-Peters failed to win a place in the Tottenham starting eleven, despite the club’s struggles at full-back throughout the current campaign. He headed to the south-coast as cover for Cedric Soares, with the Portuguese international joining Arsenal on loan.

Rose was in a similar position, as he has long wanted to make a Tottenham exit. 

He headed to Newcastle until the end of the current campaign and, according to The Telegraph, that deal is also likely to be extended so the Yorkshireman can remain with the Magpies until the Premier League is concluded. 

It would mean Tottenham banking on their current full-back options, which consist of Ben Davies, Serge Aurier, Japhet Tanganga, and Jan Vertonghen, whilst several youngsters are believed to be on Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho’s radar. 

But for Walker-Peters and Rose, the lockdown period and extension of the Premier League looks unlikely to give them a reprieve at Spurs.
