Spoilers: Asha flees in Corrie after new sex shame trauma

by

Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) is set to find out that she can’t escape her demons in Coronation Street when she makes the move to private school Oakhill – only to find herself being mocked and sniggered at there.

With Asha still suffering the humiliation and the scorn from the leaked intimate video and pictures of her, Dev insists on moving his children to Oakhill, despite warnings from Mary about how much this will cost him on top of the reputation management company he is forking out for.

Asha thinks that Oakhill could be a fresh start but it turns out to be anything but – and she flees the school during her first day there after finding herself the centre of attention once again.

Nina finds her sobbing in Victoria Gardens and gives her a shoulder to cry on – and while Dev is furious at Asha for running away from school, Nina manages to calm him down and give him food for thought about what she is going through.

Realising his daughter continues to be punished for a single mistake, Dev changes his approach and Asha takes confidence from both her dad and her new found friend, Nina.

Later on, she finds this new found bravery welling inside her when she sees a sheepish looking Corey with his mates.

As Dev and Nina watch on proudly, Asha marches up to him and gives him a piece of her mind about the way he views and treats women.

As Corey is abashed, Asha walks away, head held high. Is she managing to start putting the nightmare behind her and take control of the situation in her own hands?
