Taiwan analog IC firms to post revenue growth in 2020
by Cage Chao, Taipei; Jessie Shen, DIGITIMESTaiwan-based analog IC suppliers, pinpointed as among the beneficiaries of US-China trade tensions, are expected to post impressive revenue results for 2020 despite coronavirus headwinds, according to industry sources.
Companies including Anpec Electronics, Global-mode Technology (GMT), Silergy and Leadtrend Technology have enjoyed brisk sales thus far in the first half of 2020, the sources said. The escalating US-China trade tensions have encouraged China-based vendors to further cut their reliance on their US chip suppliers by shifting more orders to Taiwan-based companies, the sources noted.
Most of Taiwan-based analog IC firms managed to generate on-year revenue increases in the first quarter of 2020, and are poised to enjoy a particularly strong first half of the year, the sources continued.
Taiwan's first-tier fabless chipmakers including Aspeed Technology, MediaTek, Novatek Microelectronics, Realtek Semiconductor and Richwave Technology are already among the beneficiaries of China's de-Americanization campaign, the sources suggested. These firms continue to see orders from China pull in and are expected to also have their revenue results for the first half of this year outperform seasonal patterns, the sources said.
