Report: Jack Harrison assessed by Manchester City as Leeds United post training photo
The winger is expected to remain at Leeds United for the rest of the season.
by Mathew NashLeeds United winger Jack Harrison was temporarily recalled by parent club Manchester City last week, but Leeds fans should not fear regarding his involvement in the rest of the Championship campaign.
Harrison is currently on loan from the Premier League giants but that deal officially ends at the end of next month, with an extended Championship season likely to overrun that date.
Teesside Live has now reported that Harrison, along with Middlesbrough’s Lukas Nmecha and Patrick Roberts, reported to the City training ground last week to undergo assessments and seemingly evaluate their performances at their current loan clubs.
However, the report made it clear that Nmecha and Roberts would be extending their respective loan spells and sticking around until the end of the Championship campaign.
The same can be assumed regarding Harrison and Leeds, especially considering the fact Leeds posted a training photo of Harrison on their Twitter account yesterday, highlighting the winger’s return to Thorp Arch.
It will be interesting to see what City think of Harrison’s form this season. The wideman has put in a far better set of displays in 2019-20 compared to last season.
However, he made it clear to ESPN during lockdown that he will ‘hopefully’ be playing for Leeds in the Premier League next season.
The Manchester Evening News reported earlier this year that the Cityzens would be willing to agree on an £8 million permanent move for Harrison and based on his form this season, Leeds fans will no doubt hope something can be agreed.
If not, City will undoubtedly have plenty to think about regarding his recent evaluation and where he should be playing his football next season.
