Rahul Gandhi says govt’s silence on Indo-China border issue is ‘fuelling massive speculation’
by FPJ Web DeskCongress leader Rahul Gandhi on Friday said that the Government’s silence about the Indo-China border issue is fuelling massive speculation and uncertainty at a time of crisis.
Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi wrote: "The Government’s silence about the border situation with China is fuelling massive speculation and uncertainty at a time of crisis. GOI must come clean and tell India exactly what’s happening."
The situation in Eastern Ladakh deteriorated after around 250 Chinese and Indian soldiers were engaged in a violent face-off on the evening of May 5. Meanwhile, diplomatic efforts are underway to resolve the situation.
The current face-off is believed to be in reaction to India steadily building infrastructure in Ladakh and the increase in local civilian activity on the Indian side of LAC. For China, this is an irritant because India is rapidly narrowing down the infrastructure gap in Ladakh. While India has not obstructed in any manner the activities of the Chinese on their side of the LAC, whether it is putting up the pre-fabricated structures or an increase in their patrolling.
