GMB's Ranvir Singh stunned as Iain Dale snaps at her to get her facts right

Good Morning Britain host Ranvir Singh was left stunned after political commentator Iain Dale snapped at her to get her facts right.

The LBC radio presenter and right-wing political commentator appeared on GMB today via video link.

The topic turned to the subject of Dominic Cummings, with up to 99 Tory MPs slamming the fact that Boris Johnson's senior aide hadn't yet been sacked.

Iain was critical of questions posed to scientific advisors Chris Whitty and Patrick Vallance during yesterday's daily briefing after the prime minister intervened to stop them from asking questions about Cummings.

Boris Johnson was accused of 'Trumpesque' behaviour over the intervention.

This comes as Cummings faces further calls for him to resign after Durham Police found he "might" have committed a "minor breach" of the rules".

But Iain said: "[Cummings scandal] has been kept going by the journalists who keep asking questions about it. That is the role of journalists to ask questions beyond reasonable doubt.

"But they knew full well that those two civil servants could not say a word about political controversy and then they feigned surprise and horror when Boris Johnson said, 'Look, these guys are civil servants, they can't get involved in political controversy.' And they confirmed that themselves when they did actually say something."

Ranvir jumped in, pointing out: "It's interesting, isn't it, because Durham Police, who are at the centre of all of this really, because their final word is what we have to go on.

"They actually didn't absolve Dominic Cummings of all guilt because they actually did say he was - they did caption it as 'minor' - that there certainly was a breach of the rules. But that he wouldn't be investivated."

Iain interrupted and snapped: "Ranvir, you need to get this right! They did not say there was a breach of the rules, they said there may have been a minor breach of the rules. So let's be accurate in this."

Ranvir's co-host Ben Shephard stepped in, responding: "Sorry Iain, aren't we led to believe that there may be, in legalise that they're saying that there are.

"There are a number of barristers that came out and said that that's their way of saying there has been a breach. I don't know if I've misunderstood that?"

But Iain insisted: "If they wanted to say that there had been a breach, they would have said that there had been a breach. They said there may have been a breach."

This comes just months after the radio presenter stormed off the show earlier this year after petulantly claiming he wasn't able to speak.

Iain walked out during a debate about  the teenage attacker of a six-year-old boy who was thrown from the 10th floor of the Tate Modern.
