Two men die after late night ‘incident’ at Inverness flats as forensic cops scour scene

TWO MEN have died after an alleged incident at a block of flats in Inverness.

Emergency services raced to the scene in the Hilton area of the city after the alarm was raised around 11pm last night.

Police confirmed that two men, aged 28 and 35, had died.

And that the deaths were currently being treated as suspicious.

Officers also said that a man, 23, had been nicked.

Locals were thanked for their patience as police continued their probe in the area.

The scene on Balloan Road was still taped off early this morning.

Anyone with information was urged to come forward.

Detective Chief Inspector David Hadden, of Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team, said: “Enquiries are ongoing and at a very early stage.

 

“My thoughts are with the family and friends of the deceased at this difficult time. I would like to take this opportunity to stress that there is no threat to the wider community.

"This appears to have been a contained incident, however there will be a significant police presence in the area while our investigation continues. I would like to thank local residents for their patience meantime.
