by Nikita ManotDo you remember watching ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ with your entire family? The popular show where contests had to answer a number of questions based on general knowledge and current affairs. Well, only a smart and knowledgeable person could probably answer all the questions to win the ultimate cash prize of Rs.1 crore.
Speaking of which, a KBC Junior winner from 2001 has become an IPS officer. 14-year-old Ravi Mohan Saini from Alwar, Rajasthan had answered all 15 questions correctly to win the show back then. And now, nearly two decades later, he took charge as the Superintendent of Police, Porbandar, reports Hindustan Times.
Rohan was in class 10 when he had participated in KBC Junior hosted by veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan. After school, he went on to pursue his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). He then cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination to become an IPS officer posted in Gujarat in 2014, reports News18.
“After my schooling, I did my MBBS from Mahatma Gandhi Medical College in Jaipur. I was doing my internship after MBBS when I cleared UPSC. My father was in navy and I joined the police force after being inspired by him,” Rohan was quoted saying by The Indian Express.
After being the Deputy Commissioner of Police in Rajkot city, Rohan was transferred to Porbandar as the SP. He was quoted saying, “My role would be the implementation of lockdown in Porbandar in view of the Covid-19 pandemic. Also, the law and order situation remains our topmost priority.”
This is so inspiring. Hard work and dedication can surely take you places.
