Two More Deaths due to Coronavirus in Punjab, 19 New Cases reported -

In Punjab, two more people died due to Covid-19 infection on Thursday while 19 new cases of Corona virus infected have been reported in the state. Health officials said that a sixty-year-old woman from Bunala village in Baba Bakala town of Amritsar was admitted in the hospital on May 27 after she was diagnosed with corona infection.

They reported that she was suffering from high blood pressure and the woman was in critical condition and was put on oxygen. The woman’s condition continued to deteriorate and the woman was declared dead at 1.40 pm on Thursday afternoon. Similarly, a 49-year-old Railway Protection Force soldier died of Corona virus infection in Ludhiana, whereas the medical bulletin issued by the Punjab government on Thursday has not included the cases of deaths in Amritsar and Ludhiana.

According to the bulletin, the death toll has reached to 40 in the state. The bulletin states that in the meanwhile seven cases were reported in Amritsar, four in Hoshiarpur, three each in Jalandhar and Sangrur, while one each in Roop Nagar and Mohali came to light, the bulletin states that one of the newly infected persons came from abroad.

It said that 28 people have been discharged from the hospital after recovering on Thursday, including 13 from Jalandhar, nine from Amritsar, three each from Gurdaspur and Sangrur. According to this, with the recovery of these patients, the number of people who have been cured by treatment in the state has increased to 1946, whereas it said that a total of 172 people are being treated in the state.
