Tinder adds ‘Prompts’ to help you get chatting
We've all not done anything interesting to talk about recently so let the app help get things started
by Henry BurrellTinder has added a new feature designed to help kick start conversations between new matches. Called ‘Prompts’, it gives you pre-written questions that you can then type your own answer to and pin to your profile.
The company says it’s to help see you have something in common. In an announcement, Tinder said “Writing the perfect bio can be nerve-wracking, so Tinder has introduced a way to share bite-sized glimpses into your personality that can also be great conversation starters”, and added that ti would update the app with fresh new Prompts as the weeks go by.
Some of the example questions for you to finish include some lockdown-centric ones like, “I’m talking to my pet about…”, “Song I’m singing while I wash my 👐”, and “The one thing I won’t take for granted again is…”. You also get more traditional Tinder fare like saying what the key to your heart is.
Given we’ve all been locked down and unable to go on actual dates for what seems like an eternity, it’s good to see Tinder lending a helping hand to get people to chat to each other. It’s a nice reminder that we used to be able to go outside and talk to people.
