Delta provides EV charging system to Kansai Electric for experiment
by Joseph Tsai, DIGITIMES, TaipeiTaiwan-based Delta Electronics has recently cooperated with Japan-based Kansai Electric Power for an advanced validation experiment aiming to instantly control the frequency and manage the power resources of the power grid in response to transient load changes.
In the experiment, Delta provided its innovative EV charging and discharging system (two-way charging system for electric vehicles) to convert EV battery as a power supply source.
The system is able to charge and discharge within seconds following the user's instructions and features a performance similar to the battery systems from other Japan-based companies participated in the experiment.
The results of the experiment demonstrated Delta's longtime efforts and capability to develop innovative technologies such as high-efficient EV charging and discharging system to enable power grid stability and regulation for a sustainable future.
