Ryan Giggs has named Man Utd target Jadon Sancho among the top three youngsters in world football.

The Borussia Dortmund winger, 20, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford this summer in a mega-money £120million deal.

Sancho, like Giggs once did before him, has been setting pulses racing with his performances down the wing for his side.

And United fans are hoping to see a dynamic link-up with Marcus Rashford materialise, who Giggs also ranks alongside the top starlets.

He reserved third spot for another Dortmund star and United target Erling Haaland, 19, who has been banging in the goals in Germany, and Giggs feels all three have the ability to be real special players.

Speaking of Rashford, Giggs told Laureus : "I’ve seen him coming through the ranks, such a talented player.

"And you have Jadon Sancho at Dortmund, a young player who’s made the bold decision to leave Manchester City and go to another country at a young age. And he really has made a difference.

"His team-mate as well, Erling Haaland who’s scoring lots of goals."

Rashford, 22, has previously suggested Sancho should join him at United following persistent transfer speculation surrounding the Dortmund star's future.

“He's like the new generation player," Rashford said on an Instagram Q&A last month. "It's definitely exciting to watch the player he's becoming — hopefully we can all play together. That would be good."

He added: “He [Jadon Sancho] plays off the cuff. He's imaginative.

"I think in this generation, they're the things you need to be world class."

Should Sancho join United, it could hamper the first-team chances of one of Wales boss Giggs' stars Daniel James.

The ex-Swansea winger has not had the desired impact many would have hoped after a bright start to his United career.

Giggs mentioned James among a few players from his Welsh ranks that he holds in high regards, and says watching them come through reminds him of himself.

"It’s great when you see young players burst onto the scene and they’re just fearless," Giggs said.

"They just don’t think too much about the game and just express themselves. And you think back to when you were like that."
