Flashback Friday: When Kareena Kapoor Khan gave a cold-shoulder to BFF Karan Johar at an event

Karan Johar and Kareena Kapoor Khan are one of the most popular and loved BFFs in Bollywood. While they are always seen having fun in each other’s company, there was a time when all was not well in their paradise. Karan Johar, in his memoir, mentioned about his fall-out with the actress and their eventual patch-up. Talking about the same, Karan revealed that he had offered her Preity Zinta’s role in ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’. However, she asked for the same amount of money as Shah Rukh Khan for the movie. Karan refused to pay her that much. He also added that she didn’t even receive his call. Later, they roped in Preity for the role. Karan revealed that Kareena and he did not speak to each other for over a year.

Elaborating further on the same, Karan said that he met her at an event once and tried to extend an olive branch by smiling at her. But instead of reciprocating, Kareena snubbed him. Then, during the making of ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’, Karan’s father Yash Johar was diagnosed with stage four cancer, and Kareena gave him a call as soon as she heard the news. And rest, as they say, is history.

Karan and Kareena will soon be seen reuniting for the filmmaker’s period drama, ‘Takht’. The movie boasts of an ensemble star cast that includes, Ranveer Singh, Vicky Kaushal, Alia Bhatt, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi, and Anil Kapoor.
