Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher makes brilliant Reds claim

Jamie Carragher believes the Premier League would be a better place if Nottingham Forest were to end their 20-year exile this summer.

The Reds are fifth in the Championship with just nine games remaining, and once the season gets going again, they’ll be hoping to continue their promotion push which took a blow at home to Millwall in their last outing at the City Ground in late March.

"They're a team that are there or thereabouts," he said of Sabri Lamouchi 's promotion hopefuls.

"A lot of the time we speak about Leeds for some reason, that we’re all desperate for different reasons to get a huge club back."

"We had offers from an Italian Serie A club and Turkish and Dutch D1 clubs," Chambly president Fulvio Luzi at the time.

Project Restart given green light in big boost to Reds

Forest have been handed a big boost in their hopes of a return to action this afternoon.

Multiple outlets have confirmed that the Premier League is due to restart on June 17 after competition was suspended for more than three months because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Two games-in-hand, Aston Villa vs Sheffield United and Manchester City vs Arsenal, will kick-off a football bonanza with a full fixture list to be played the following week.

This has handed Lamouchi's side another boost in their hopes of playing out the Championship season to a finish.
