Search continuing for young woman missing in Hunua Ranges

The public is being called on for any sightings or information after a 25-year-old woman went missing in Auckland's Hunua Ranges.

Police say Elicia Hughes-Sutherland drove to Hunua Falls last Tuesday and has not been seen since.

The search is ongoing with a ground search being carried out on Thursday.

"A team of searchers have returned to the area to carry out a further search today [Friday] and this will continue tomorrow, weather depending," said acting Detective Senior Sergeant Michelle Gillespie.

"The search crews are focused on the areas around the Hunua Falls, Cossey's and Wairoa Reservoir areas.

"Earlier this week the Police Dive Squad carried out an unsuccessful water search of the Hunua Falls area."

Acting Det Snr Sgt Gillespie said concern continues to grow about Hughes-Sutherland's whereabouts.

"Elicia's family are extremely worried due to the fact they have had no contact from Elicia for well over a week, which is very out of character."

Anyone with information is urged to contact police on 105, quoting file number 200521/6276
