by

The good weather is set to continue over the bank holiday weekend.

Met Éireann is forecasting temperatures of 20 to 25 degrees nationwide across Ireland.

While on Thursday they clocked a high of 26.8 Celsius in County Roscommon.

Warm For Friday But A Little Breezy

Meanwhile Alan O'Reilly from Carlow Weather says it'll be a little bit breezy for Friday.

"The only downside will be - it'll be very breezy today."

"If you're lucky enough to live within 5km of a beach on the South or East coast it'll be a bit cooler there."

"20 to 25 degrees across the country."

"So it's going to be an absolutely glorious weekend."

Good Weather: Gardaí Out In Force

Garda Superintendent Paul Cleary has asked drivers to give pedestrians and cyclists some extra space.

"We're conscious that with the good weather, a lot of pedestrians, joggers and cyclists will be out."

"We would ask that motorists would be extra vigilant to give that bit of extra room to pedestrians and cyclists."

"Also we've seen a significant increase in the number of drivers detected drug driving"

"An almost 90% increase."

"The Guards don't want to be delivering devastating news to any family this weekend."
