CM Punk hints at a return to wrestling. The former WWE Superstar hasn’t wrestled since walking out on the promotion back in 2014.

Very few modern-day wrestlers have had the appeal of CM Punk. The straight edge superstar captivated the fans with his abilities on the mic and inside the ring. He oozed charisma regardless of whether he was being portrayed as a heel or a face.

However, by January 2014, Punk became disillusioned with the WWE and walked out of the company and refused to return until he was eventually fired. Fans have since speculated if and when he will ever return to wrestling.

Punk has categorically denied ever wanting to return to the business. However, his current role as an analyst on WWE backstage has led many to ask the question once again. And perhaps for the first time, Punk has teased that his time as a professional wrestler is yet to come to an end.

On May 27th FITE TV conducted a poll asking fans about their best CM Punk moment. Punk replied, “TBD.” This was enough to send the fans into a frenzy.

However, it is unlikely that the ‘voice of the voiceless’ would ever will ever wrestle inside a WWE ring again. Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Vince McMahon has labelled CM Punk as the one man he can’t do business with and no one close to The Boss has challenged him on this.

The report adds that the only reason he was allowed to feature on WWE Backstage was because they didn’t want to damage their relationship with FOX so early into their partnership.

Furthermore, there is a belief within the company that Punk has devalued himself by returning on WWE Backstage instead of launching a comeback as a wrestler. This has led to doubts on Punk’s ability to raise ratings if he does get in the ring again in the future.
