by

Mustang Public Schools announced its schedule for reopening summer activities for high school athletes on Thursday, six days after a proposal was rejected by the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association board of directors.

MPS reviewed the OSSAA proposal that was rejected last week and implemented it into its own plan.

“This plan has been developed in conjunction with team doctors and healthcare personnel as well as school districts from around the State of Oklahoma,” MPS wrote in a release. “Student Athletes should expect to hear from their individual coach(es) prior to June 8 for specific plans concerning meeting times/locations and additional details.”

MPS’ plan introduces pre-workout screenings, limitations on gatherings, facility cleaning, sanitation for its players and what athletes should do if they’re experiencing Covid-19 symptoms.
