Srinagar, May 28: Three pregnant women and a Canteen worker were among 115 fresh cases that tested positive for the COVID-19 taking the tally of pandemic cases in UT to 2036.

Officials informed that among 115 news cases that were detected in Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday, 15 were tested positive at SKIMS, 11 at CD hospital, 06 at JVC Bemina, 74 at Army’s command hospital Srinagar and rest at other private labs.

Among 115 new cases, 101 belong to Kashmir division while as 14 are from Jammu division, officials said, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 1636 including 763 recoveries and 24 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division has reached to 301 including 96 recoveries and 3 deaths.

They added that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 1150 including 849 from Kashmir division and 301 from Jammu division.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 7 from Anantnag, 8 from Srinagar, 11 from Budgam 45 from Kupwara, 8 from Shopian, 16 from Baramulla and 3 from Pulwama in Kashmir division while as 14 from Jammu include 8 from Jammu district, 3 from Kathua and one each from Udhampur, Poonch and Reasi,” officials disclosed.

Officials said that among 115 new cases 93 are travellers including 83 from Kashmir division 10 from Jammu division

G H Yatoo, Nodal officer for covid-19 at SKIMS said that out of samples tested at the hospital, 15 were tested positive.

Out of 1082 samples tested positive at SKIMS laboratory 08 were tested positive, he said, adding that 04 are from Kupwara, 02 from Srinagar and 01 each from Kulgam and Baramulla.

He further added that out of 346 samples that were received from Airport 07 were tested positive. Among the 7, 03 are from Pampore and 02 each from Shopian and Anantnag.

Dr Salim Khan Nodal officer for coronavirus at GMC Anantnag said that out of 450 samples tested at CD hospital 11 were found positive.

He further added that among new 11 cases, 4 are from Anantnag, 3 from Srinagar, 3 from Baramulla( including one dead) and one from Chadoora Budgam.

Patients from Anantnag include 25 and 28 year old two pregnant ladies from Anantnag, 25 year old lady from Mattan Anantnag and 35 year old pregnant lady from Pahalgam, he said, adding that the patients from Baramulla include 33 and 60 year old males from Wankara Baramulla and a male from Baramulla who had died on Wednesday and tested positive on Thursday.

The patients from Srinagar include 34-year-old woman from Lal bazar Srinagar, 18-year-old male from Narwara, Eidgah and 56-year-old male, who is a canteen worker at CD hospital Srinagar.

He added that 200 more samples are under process and 800 more samples were received on Thursday. Officials from JVC Bemina said that out 259 samples tested at the hospital, 06 were tested positive

New six cases include 01 from Lal Bazar Srinagar (Sample taken at Airport) and   4 from Vehil and one from Memandar villages of Shopian district. Lt Col Inam Danish khan from Army’s Command hospital Udhampur said that in last 24 hours 74 were tested positive at the hospital.

He said that among 74, 3 each are from Jammu and Rajouri districts, 2 from Udhampur and one each from Poonch, Samba, Akhnoor, Kuthua and Surankot in Jammu division and 42 from Kupwara, 11 from Budgam, 6 from Srinagar and one each from Kulgam and Anantnag districts in Kashmir division.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, 27th COVID-19 death was witnessed in Jammu and Kashmir as a 55 year-old man from Baramulla district who had died on Wednesday was tested positive for the virus on Thursday.

Nodal officer for covid-19 at GMC Srinagar Dr Salim Khan said that a 55 years old male from Khanpora, Baramulla was referred from GMC Hospital Baramulla with fever, respiratory distress on Wednesday to SMHS Hospital Srinagar.

He said that patient expired within hours of admission and samples were tested positive for  COVID-19 on Thursday

With his death, the death toll of covid-19 patients in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 27 including 24 from Kashmir division and 03 from Jammu division

As per the daily information bulletin 155,736 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while as 37,009 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 1150 persons are in hospital isolation while as 55 persons are under hospital quarantine.

According to the bulletin, 79,474 persons have completed surveillance period and 38,021 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 153,522 samples are available.

Out of 153,522 the number of samples tested negative stands at 151,486  while as 2036  have been tested positive, among them 1150 are active and 859 persons have recovered and 27 persons have died—(KNO)
