Watch: Filmmaker David Lynch’s Weird, Jittery Pregnancy Test Ad From 1997

Filmmaker David Lynch is recognized for his eccentic style of direction in his works, including 1986 film Blue Velvet and 90s television show Twin Peaks.
However, Lynch had also dabbled in advertising in the 1990s for various companies, such as PlayStation and Clear Blue.
In his 1997 advert for Clear Blue Easy One Minute home pregnancy tests, Lynch explored the unease and anticipation of being with child in his unique style. The advert features an anxiety-stridden lady waiting to find out whether she is pregnant or not.

The clock ticks on her watch as the numbers change to the words, “Yes” and “No.” The concept increases in intensity over the course, before Clear Blue’s pregnancy kit with its one-minute result test formula is introduced.
