Lady Gaga's Top 40 biggest songs on the Official UK Chart

Lady Gaga is one of the world's biggest musicians of the past decade - but how to her hits really stack up?

The time has finally arrived: we've been invited on to the planet Chromatica to discover the new era of Lady Gaga.

Gaga's sixth collection is a balls-to-the-wall pop record featuring Top 5 single Stupid Love and Number 1 challenger Rain On Me with Ariana Grande. The powerhouse pop that launched an army of Little Monsters more than a decade ago is back.

To celebrate Chromatica's release we're looking back at Gaga's Top 40 biggest hits in the UK to date. Scroll to the bottom of the page for the full list (and breakout Top 20s of her bestsellers and most streamed tracks) but first, some highlights...

Telephone ft. Beyoncé

Year: 2010
Official Chart Peak: 1
Chart sales: 1.01 million

One of the biggest female collaborations of all-time. Check. A ludicrously chaotic yet amazing music video. Check. A dog playing dead pretending to be poisoned. Check. Telephone really had something for everyone.

Gaga and Beyoncé's mammoth collaboration was a huge hit in 2010, becoming the biggest Number 1 of that year by a female artist, reigning over the Official Singles Chart for a fortnight. With 736,000 paid-for sales and 30.5 million streams, it's Gaga's fifth biggest song.

Just Dance ft. Colby O'Donis

Year: 2009
Official Chart Peak: 1
Chart sales: 1.27 million

Featuring Colby O'Donis (answers on a postcard) and a random uncredited appearance from Akon (because why not), Gaga's debut single Just Dance put her on the map as a force to be reckoned with - it was the UK's bestselling song of 2009. It's also one of the UK's biggest debut singles ever, with 968,000 pure sales. Factor in 31.9 million streams and Gaga's first single is her fourth biggest track in the UK.

Bad Romance

Year: 2009
Official Chart Peak: 1
Chart sales: 1.4 million

From the cover art to the video and the defiant chant of 'Gaga ooh la la', everything about Bad Romance made a good case for iconic status. It's one of only 178 songs to shift 1 million pure sales in the UK, its total currently standing at 1.05 million copies. 40 million streams added into the equation, Bad Romance is Gaga's third most popular song with all formats combined.

Poker Face

Year: 2009
Official Chart Peak: 1
Chart sales: 1.55 million

Gaga's Top 40 singles add up to a mighty 8.9 million paid-for sales between them, an eighth of which come from Poker Face alone! The 15th bestselling song ever by a lead female solo artist, Gaga bluffed with her muffin all the way to 1.19 million sales, making Poker Face her best-selling song. But when streaming is factored in, there's one song that has managed to edge it out.

Shallow

Year: 2018
Official Chart Peak: 1
Chart sales: 1.61 million

With more streams than Poker Face, Bad Romance, Just Dance and Telephone combined, Shallow was Gaga's first mega hit of the streaming era, surpassing the low-key success of Million Reasons and The Cure. Recorded for the soundtrack to A Star Is Born, the Bradley Cooper duet and Oscar winning song became Gaga's first UK chart topper in over eight years, reestablishing her position as one of the the music business' biggest names. With a modest 224,000 downloads boosted by a lofty 189 million streams, Shallow leads Lady Gaga's all-time biggest hits.

Hit singles Born This Way, The Edge of Glory, Paparazzi and Alejandro also feature in her all-time Top 10, which is rounded out by Always Remember Us This Way from A Star Is Born. Beyoncé collaboration Video Phone lands at 23, while Gaga's feature on Wale's Chillin is at 29.

Album tracks from The Fame/The Fame Monster Beautiful Dirty Rich and Monster appear at 31 and 32, and Eh Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say), a single from The Fame released in selected territories only, rounds out the list at 40.
