OnePlus 6, 6T, 7, 7T get Epic Game Store via new OxygenOS update

by

OnePlus does a remarkable job with its old smartphones. In counterpart to some companies that quickly change focus to newer handsets, the Chinese firm is always providing solid software support even for its old smartphones. Every OnePlus released after the OnePlus 5 is now running Android 10. However, this doesn’t mean that the OxygenOS will rest. There are several new features coming via the latest OxygenOS update for the OnePlus 6, OnePlus 6T, 7, and 7T. Among the new add-ons, we have May 2020 security patch and a newly added section for Epic Games in Game Space for Indian variants. If you’re unaware, Epic Games is behind Fortnite, one of the most successful, if not the most successful battle royale game available. However, the battle-royale isn’t the only offering from Epic, the company has its own store to compete with the likes of Steam.

While the above features are common between the four handsets, the OnePlus 7 and 7T are getting Dolby Atmos support for Wireless Z earphones and 960fps slow-motion video recording support. The company did quite some engineering to bring the 960fps feature for the OnePlus 7T and it’s using a kind of interpolation to generate the 960 frames. However, it’s amazing to see such effort in a device that isn’t a priority like the recently released OnePlus 8.
