Marshmello, Bassnectar, Alison Wonderland & More Speak Out After the Death of George Floyd
by Katie BainWhile the dance world is often criticized for being one of the least politically involved musical genres, a number of electronic producers have spoken out on Twitter in response to the death of George Floyd.
Floyd, a black man, was allegedly killed by suffocation when a Minnesota police officer kneeled on his neck. The incident has sparked nationwide protests since a video of the event surfaced on the internet on Monday (May 24). That police officer, Derek Chauvin, was arrested today (May 29) on the count of third degree murder.
