At the end of the week, weather in Latvia will be dictated by the south-eastern portion of an anticyclone, making the sky clear in most of the country. Wind speed will be slow and will draw in from the north and north-west. At times wind speed will reach a speed of 15-18 m/sec. Air temperature will reach +15° C… +20° C.

It may be colder in coastal areas, as air temperature will not exceed +11° C… +13° C there.

Activity of a cyclone to the south-east of Latvia will briefly increase during the weekend. This means on Saturday and Sunday wind will draw in from the north and north-east with speed reaching 15-17 m/sec. Clouds will increase, but no precipitation is expected. On the night to Saturday air temperature will drop to +6° C… +11° C and on Sunday air temperature will drop to +10° C… +12° C.

Maximum air temperature will reach +17° C… +21° C (+14° C… +19° C in Kurzeme).

At the beginning of next week a new anticyclone will reach Latvia’s territory from the north-west. The wind will calm down on Monday, but some short-term precipitation is still expected. From Tuesday onward weather will be dry and wind speed will be slow. In the middle of the week, with the centre of the anticyclone above Latvia’s territory, maximum daytime air temperature will reach +19° C… +22° C. There is a possibility air temperature during the day may reach +25° C. Nights will be relatively warm, with minimal air temperature at +7° C… +12° C. The possibility of cold snap is very low.
