Inter now know what Icardi wants to do

Mauro Icardi, the Inter striker on loan at PSG, wants to continue in France and the Parisian club have the option to sign him permanently. They have until 31st May to buy Icardi. This is what Piero Ausilio, the Inter sporting director, said this Friday.

We still do not know what will be of Icardi next season. His future is one of the things which will be resolved this summer.

"I know Icardi would like to stay in Paris. There is a purchase option which PSG can take up which expires on 31st May. The amount has obviously been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. We'll see what happens," Ausilio told 'Sky Sport Italia'.

Icardi left Inter last summer and the agreement says that, after this year on loan, PSG can sign him permanently for 70 million euros, an amount which could be slightly reduced due to the coronavirus pandemic.

"We often speak to the PSG sporting director, Leonardo, and I know that Icardi has signed a contract which includes the possibility of him staying in Paris," Ausilio said.

According to the latest information, PSG and Inter have now decided on Icardi's future. The French club want to buy him and the Italian side have apparently approved the deal. However, Ausilio did not speak about that final agreement which the French press have been talking about.

The Inter sporting director also reported that Arturo Vidal, the Chilean midfielder for Barcelona, "is not a priority" at this moment in time and Edinson Cavani, the PSG striker, is not either.

That said, Inter will get back the Belgian Radja Nainggolan, who was sent out on loan to Cagliari for a year after Antonio Conte did not count on him.
