The footballers which get fouled the most: Neymar is not number one!

by

Players always complain that they keep on getting fouled so we at 'ProFootballDB', BeSoccer's data laboratory, decided to find out which players get fouled the most compared to the amount of matches they have played. To many people's surprise, Neymat is not top of the list.

'ProFootballDB', BeSoccer's data laboratory, has analysed which footballers get fouled the most in the least amount of time. The results are surprising.

Because, unlike what many might think, Neymar is not the player who is fouled the most, but it is actually Aston Villa midfielder Jack Grealish

In a thorough study, ProFootballDB has analysed the minutes needed for each player to be fouled on average and the Englishman tops the list.

24 year-old Grealish is fouled every 18.7 minutes on average, which means almost five times a game if he plays every game. He has been 125 times so far this season.

Second in the list is still not the controversial PSG striker. It is Rafinha Alcantara of Celta Vigo, on loan from Barca. He is brought down every 20.8 minutes, a total of 79 fouls in the league.

Neymar is in third place. The Brazilian has suffered several injuries after being fouled in recent years. Our stats show he gets fouled very often.

The PSG star is fouled once every 21.7 minutes, a total of 61 in the whole season, although it is true that the former Barca man has played less than Grealish. The Villa footballer has played 2334 minutes in the 2019-20 Premier League season to Neymar's 1,906 in Ligue 1. Rafinha has been on the pitch for 1664 minutes during this La Liga campaign.

Hazard in fourth

To complete the top ten, we will start with the man in fourth who is Real Madrid's Eden Hazard. He is on the floor every 22 minutes

The Valencia man Goncalo Guedes and Nabil Fekir of Betis are next (22.1 and 22.7 minutes respectively). Filippo Falco, Roland Sallai, Ernesto Torregrossa and Felix Klaus are 7th to 10th.
