"I haven't lost the feel of the ball with my hand"

Belgium's Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid goalkeeper's, has said he feels "prepared for what lies ahead", the resumption of La Liga in the coming weeks, when the team will try to beat Barcelona and win the title.

Courtois admitted to the official UEFA media that "there was a lot of desire to go back to training" when they were in confinement and that since returning they are "doing very well".

"The first week was strange because we had to train individually, but these weeks when we're in small groups we can do more," he admitted.

"Besides, I haven't lost the feel of the ball with my hand. At the first training session, after two months, I realised that I hadn't lost anything. For that reason I feel prepared for what comes", assured the Belgian who explained that since they began to work in groups they are "already making more or less normal trainings and little by little" they are put on the physical point "to start the last 11 games in the best possible form".

He said that in the first week they did notice the health protocols and how it affected training, since the goalkeeping coach could not shoot them on goal or give a pass. "These are strange things at first, but we've adapted to them," he said.

"By training in groups we've already had shots on goal and outfield players can work on possession. For example, goalkeeping training has been the same as I've been doing all my career. We are looking forward to those spikes in training, to the 11 vs. 11 games, to laughing all together.

"Little by little, when it's possible to go through, we'll do it and for the time being we're training with protocol," Courtois added in conclusion.
