"Achraf wants to play for Madrid, but there's no hurry"
by BeSoccerAchraf Hakimi has become one of the Bundesliga's great sensations. The Moroccan is on loan to Borussia Dortmund from Real Madrid, who could take him back this summer. However, the full-back is in no hurry.
He was left without a place because of Dani Carvajal's and Alvaro Odriozola's roles in Real Madrid. Achraf was forced to emigrate to Germany, where he was taken in by a Borussia Dortmund team that has managed to find its best home.
The Moroccan international is playing at a very high level as a wingback. Some have asked him to join Real Madrid back next season, although the player is not in a hurry.
"He will join Madrid when the championship is over. We'll see what happens later. He wants to play matches, as this year he has been in all of them as a starter. But there is no hurry, he wants to be a starter in games," said Alejandro Camaño, his agent, in 'Onda Madrid'.
Camaño also said that there has been "good" dialogue with Madrid, who "intends to have him on its radar". "What we do not want is to get too far away from Madrid", added Achraf's representative.
"We will reach an agreement, so that he stays or goes, but without forgetting that the aim is to play one day in Real Madrid, which for him is the best team in the world. It could happen shortly, if Real Madrid offers him to stay now, or longer, but the goal is the same, to end up in the best team of the world", he confessed.
Camaño talked about his player's impressive form, and how that could be his golden ticket to the Spanish capital. "Achraf is a different player, he has tested at an extraordinary level and somehow he has all the options to come back, knowing that he is one of the best wingers in the world and he has fought to reach the level," he informed.
The Moroccan's representative explained why he chose Borussia Dortmund to let Achraf go. "I thought it was the ideal place to come to the Bernabeu one day because of the pressure on the atmosphere in that stadium," he concluded.
This season, Achraf stands out from the other two Madrid wingbacks. His numbers, in a study by ProFootballDB, are better than those of Dani Carvajal and Álvaro Odriozola
