Real Madrid plan to reopen Bernabeu to spectators in October
by BeSoccerReal Madrid are already thinking of when they will be able to open the Santiago Bernabeu to their supporters. According to 'Marca', the club are working of the idea of people being able to return in October.
There are still 11 matchdays left of the 2019-20 season, but it's inevitable to think about what will happen next term.
The 2020-21 season will begin on 12th September. Javier Tebas, the LaLiga president, has confirmed.
And 'Marca' says that Real Madrid are thinking of opening their stadium to spectators from October.
You have to remember that the remaining games this season will be played at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano, the B team's ground. They have done this so they can bring forward planned renovation work at the Bernabeu and have it done for next season.
There is now a start date for next season, but we still do not know when fans will be allowed back. 'Marca' reports that this is just a prediction which Real Madrid have made.
When fans return, it will not be like before. There will be extreme security measures. It is contemplated that the stadium will be allowed to be at 30% capacity for the initial games with spectators. That way, supporters can keep social distancing, something which is vital to prevent the possible spread of coronavirus.
