Blast furnace workers produce hot metal amid pandemic

Even in the difficult times of the Covid-19 epidemic, there has been no let down in the spirit & enthusiasm of BSL blast furnace personnel. This team, which plays an important role in making hot metal in the steel production process is still playing crucial role in production by taking care of all the safety aspects related to compliances of COVID19.

In order to keep the production of the blast furnace running smoothly, the skilled personnel of Blast Furnace Department, under the able leadership of Chief General Manager Anjani Kumar, are producing hot metal from two blast furnaces daily even under these difficult conditions. It is known that during lockdown, two other furnaces are currently kept in off-blast so that they can be brought into operation immediately as required, while capital repair is under progress in another furnace. During the work in the blast furnace, all personnel are being instructed to follow social distancing, use of face masks and other safety aspects.
