NDMC seals its office after 4 test corona positive

Days after four employees of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC), the civic body has sealed the entire building on Thursday and directed all the officers and employees to work from home for next two day and be available on mobile and email all the times.

 In view of the employees working in accounts and commercial department of NDMC, reported corona virus (Covid-19) positive, the civic body has decided to seal the entire headquarters building in Palika Kendra, according to statement issued by NDMC. 

“NDMC civil engineering department (building maintenance division) and public health department have carried out an extensive disinfection drive in Palika Kendra and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Place offices. This disinfection drive will continued carry out for three times a day for next two days,” it said.

A team of 20 health workers lead by NDMC officials of public health department sprayed 100 liter disinfectant by Knapsack machines, it said, adding that one per cent sodium hypochlorite solution was used to disinfect the building and surroundings.

A senior NDMC official said that at least 4,000 litres water with bleaching through water tanker were used. This exercise has been carried out in addition to daily disinfection of building by civil engineering department through outsourced agency, he added.

The Covid-19 cell of NDMC is being intimated the district authority to carry out the contact tracing as per standard operating  procedure ( SOP ) for the staff of Palika Kendra and Shaheed Bhagat Singh Place .

It is also directed to all people who were in close contact with affected person / employees to observe home quarantine procedure and report to district authority in case they become symptomatic.

The civic body has also advised all affected employees to inform director (welfare) in case any help is required.
