Provide biscuits, water to Shramik trains: Baghel

Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel wants biscuits and water pouches to be provided to migrant labourers when Shramik special trains carrying them stop at railway stations in Chhattisgarh.

The Chief Minister has given instructions to this effect to the District Collectors of Raipur, Bilaspur, Rajnandgaon, Janjgir-Champa and Raigarh.

Baghel said that because of Covid-19 induced lockdown, food and water were not available for the Shramik train passengers. They are also unable to step out of their train at the stations.

In such circumstances, distribution of biscuits and water pouches will prove to be a big relief, the Chief Minister said.

As soon as these trains stop at a station within Chhattisgarh, biscuits and water should be provided to the passengers. District administration officials should supervise the distribution.
