Apathy to farmers: AIKSSS sends memo to PM

The All India Kissan Sangharsa Samanway Samiti (AIKSSS),Odisha unit, sent a memorandum to the Prime Minister of India on continued neglect to farmers’ problems and expressing dissatisfaction over the relief packages  by the Government.

The Samiti demanded ‘Sampoorna Karjamukti’ (full loan waiver) and ‘Poora Daam’ (full price) for the produce of the farmers.

While the Government has written off Rs 68,607 crore of the big corporate loans, but the farmers and workers are being grossly neglected, the memorandum alleged.

The memorandum demanded waiver of all loans of all farmers, slash in input prices, fair MSP, waiver of all electricity bills, provision of 15 kg per unit per month of food grain along with at least 1 kg of pulses, oil and sugar; wage work for full 6 months, Rs 10,000 per month for at least for six months for  loss of livelihood to each family,

Government health facility in every village, free transport to allow all migrants to return home, testing for all migrants; opening of all local small businesses and production and local transport.

The memorandum also cautioned that the economic relief announced would completely ruin the limited securities of farmers.
