OSU football: QB Brendan Costello to enter transfer portal, per report

by

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State appears to be losing a scholarship quarterback, according to a report.

Redshirt freshman quarterback Brendan Costello is set to enter the transfer portal, as reported by Yahoo Sports’ Pete Thamel on Wednesday afternoon.

Costello redshirted as a true freshman last season. He has been on campus since January of 2019, enrolling early after being recruited out of San Clemente, California, by former Cowboy offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich.

Costello was buried on the depth chart by walk-ons Shaun Taylor and Peyton Thompson late last season, prior to the Cowboys signing four-star freshman Shane Illingworth and junior-college transfer Ethan Bullock over the winter.
