Number of Ukrainian border guards with COVID-19 grows to 43

Two new cases were reported on May 26.

The number of members of Ukraine's State Border Guard Service who have tested positive for the coronavirus (COVID-19) grew to 43 as of May 27.

"Six new cases have been confirmed by testing since last Friday; of them, two were [registered] yesterday," the State Border Guard Service said on its website on May 27.

Of the total number of military personnel and employees of the State Border Service who have tested positive for the coronavirus, 16 have already recovered. Another 27 patients continue treatment. Six of them are in hospital.

About 100 border guards who have been in contact with coronavirus patients are now under medical observation. They are either self-isolating or have been placed under observation in specially designated facilities.
