Strictly Come Dancing’s Motsi Mabuse shares gruelling international commute to see baby daughter

The Strictly Come Dancing judge is based in Germany, and travels weekly, sometimes daily, to split time between her career and her baby daughter, which often leaves her in tears.

Strictly Come Dancing’s Motsi Mabuse said she is often left in tears over leaving her two-year-old daughter to film her many projects.

The professional dancer is from South Africa, but is based in Germany, where her husband Evgenij Voznyuk and their two-year-old daughter reside.

Motsi said during the last season of Strictly, she made the decision to leave her child in Germany so as not to “stress” her with the gruelling travel schedule.

However the 39-year-old admitted she struggled to be away from her daughter.

“I cry quite often when I’m in the plane,” said Motsi in an Instagram Live chat.

“But I’ve never missed a doctor’s appointment. I’ve literally come back home for two hours to take her to the doctor and then flown back. “

Motsi also appears on Let’s Dance in Germany, which is filmed 90 minutes away from her home.

“I come home at 3[am], then she wakes up at 7 and I’m up,” she said, adding that the sacrifice is worth it to provide for her family.

“I love my job and I’m providing for her. I’m providing for my family so that we have stability. That is so important for me.”

If life wasn’t hectic enough for the pro, Motsi previously admitted that she and Evgenji are keen to expand their brood, and soon.

“We both would like another baby and next year we have to make a decision,” she said.

“I have found clarity in my head and heart from being a mum.I have learned that it’s OK for me to say no to things.”

She said: “My husband and I are going to sit down and look at our calendars about the year ahead.

“When I come home now, I put my mobile phone to one side and am only concerned about myself and not worried what everyone else wants. Earlier, I was never separated from my mobile. Now I’m trying to do less on social media. I want to find a balance.”
