Sophie Kasaei reveals her natural hair has finally grown back after her extensions left her with bald patches

SOPHIE Kasaei has revealed her natural hair has finally grown back after her extensions left her with bald patches.

The reality star suffered from Contraction Alopecia due to years of constantly wearing hair extensions without giving her hair and scalp a proper break.

But updating fans on Instagram tonight, she showed off her healthy locks and said: "Anyone who knows me knows the struggles I’ve had with me hair.

"This is the first time I’ve washed and blow dried it in say two months now. And I'm so buzzing.

"I’m so buzzing I’ve got like actual hair, I’ve had my extensions out now and I’ve been really looking after it.

"My fringe is so long now, usually my fringe is really short. All I’ve been doing is leaving conditioner in 24/7 and taking me vitamins."

Traction alopecia is associated with sustained tension on the scalp hair.

Traction causes hair to loosen from its follicular roots; however, hair loss also occurs secondary to follicular inflammation and atrophy.

Speaking in the candid MTV clip, Sophie explained in 2017: "Because of all the extensions I've been getting, I've suffered from Contraction Alopecia, which means that I've lost hair on the sides and that it may never come back.

She continued: "And that's not because of the extensions I'm getting in, it's because of all the years I've been tormenting my hair.

"So going forward I want to start looking after my hair and I want to make people aware that if you are getting extensions give your hair a break in between  because you don't want to end you with bald patches like this."

The star showed off the full effects of her condition and reveals very large bald patches as she turns her head to the side.

The Geordie Shore star is one of the original cast members and the outspoken star has been central to much of the show's drama.

She is the cousin of fellow Geordie Shore star Marnie Simpson, who got very intimate with her during as recent episode by bleaching her bum.
