Parliament wants curfew hours reviewed

Parliament has asked the national taskforce on COVID-19 to adjust curfew hours.

This comes after a number of Ugandans were yesterday arrested for failing to observe the curfew time due to traffic jam on different roads after the President allowed movement of private cars.

Legislators, including Bugabula South MP Maurice Henry Kibalya and Kasambya County MP Gaffa Mbwatekamwa asked the President to pardon all the suspects because they did not deliberately violate the directive.

The Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga, hence asked the taskforce to review the curfew hours which start at 7pm to 6:30am.
