Twitch to stream Summer Game Fest 2020 on its platform

On May 1, 2020, Geoff Keighley - creator of The Game Awards - announced a season of virtual gaming events called the Summer Game Fest, in light of the multitude of cancellations of major physical gaming shows and exhibitions such as E3 and gamescom. Today Twitch announced that it will be covering the Summer Game Fest, which is set to take place over the course of the next few months.

The Amazon-owned subsidiary revealed that it will also be streaming additional exclusive content aside from the events and announcements from the Game Fest. In addition, the entire show will also be available for co-streaming.

In the announcing blog post, Twitch also listed the names of some of the companies in the gaming industry that it has partnered up with to make what it has in store for the ongoing multi-month digital event possible. Riot, CD PROJEKT RED, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Electronic Arts, Blizzard Entertainment, 2K, and the IGDA are some of the ones named.
