RTE to re-air all five seasons of Love/Hate starting next month

by

Love/Hate is returning to our screens once again with RTE set to begin reairing all five season of the gangster drama next month.

The national broadcaster will air the first episode of the beloved series on Friday, June 5, as it replaces The Late Late Show, which is wrapping up its current season this week.

The show will kick off at 10.50pm, following a repeat of Brendan Grace's Late Late Show tribute which first aired before Christmas.

Love/Hate will then continue on from there each week in the absence of the Ryan Tubridy-fronted chat show.

Starring Aidan Gillen, Tom Vaughan-Lawlor, Robert Sheehan, Ruth Negga and John Connors, the gripping crime series delves deep into the heart of darkness that is Dublin's gangland underworld.

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, RTE has been showing a range of classics on Irish TV screens, including Bachelors Walk and Pure Mule as well as classic Irish movies such as The Guard.

Friday's episode of The Late Late Show is the last of the season and the long-running RTE chat show is set to bow out in style with its best line-up in years.

Speaking on his RTÉ Radio 1 show yesterday, host Ryan Tubirdy revealed he will be joined virtually by President Michael D Higgins for this week's show, along with two of Ireland's most recognisable faces.
