Manchester United have offered Alexis Sanchez to Borrusia Dortmund in part-exchange for Jadon Sancho, according to reports.

M.E.N. Sport understands that United will look to continue with their summer recruitment strategy despite the precarious position of the game as a result of the coronavirus crisis, with Sancho one of the top targets alongside Jack Grealish and Jude Bellingham.

United have been long-term admirers of Sancho, who has developed into one of the world's most exciting attackers since leaving neighbours Manchester City in search of first-team football.

The 20-year-old has a staggering 17 goals and 20 assists to his name so far this season and it's no surprise that a massive £100million-plus fee has been touted.

Yet United chief Ed Woodward has expressed his doubt that such fees will be viable in a post-COVID world, saying in April: "I cannot help feeling that speculation around transfers of individual players for hundreds of millions of pounds this summer seems to ignore the realities that face the sport."

As a result, United could potentially offer players as part of the deal to lower the price and according to Mundo Deportivo, they have done exactly that with Sanchez.

The Chilean struggled for form after his much-hyped arrival at Old Trafford from Arsenal and has spent this season out on loan at Inter Milan, where he started promisingly but was then curtailed by injuries and reduced to a largely peripheral role.

It's reported that United will offer Sanchez plus a substantial fee to try and pry Sancho away from Dortmund. Yet such a deal seems unlikely due to Sanchez's hefty wages and age, which go against Dortmund's policy of developing young players.

However, the report states that the deal is still a possibility considering Dortmund's record of getting the best out of players who appeared to be past their prime, citing the striker Paco Alcacer.

Elsewhere, United are reportedly close to agreeing a deal for Bayern Munich’s Corentin Tolisso.

The French midfielder has barely featured for Hansi Flick’s side since the Bundesliga resumed. Tolisso reportedly came close to a United move in January, and according to French media outlet Le10Sport, he is viewed as a potential Paul Pogba replacement.

It’s claimed that United have sought the help of former PSG sporting director Antero Henrique to seal the deal.
